CHANGE BEGINS AT HOME

That was a moment of feeling a bit less worried and somewhat relieved when I came to know that the residents of my Apartments complex did something which was least expected from them.

The day I saw a Ganpati idol being ensconced in our society premises I sadly realized that even this year our society will contribute in choking the already half dead Yamuna by stupidly immersing one more ceramic idol into it, just like thousands of other learned fools were doing. But this morning I came to know from my Maa what they’ve actually done this time. As the idol was a relatively small one, they kept it immersed in a big tub filled with water in one of our society’s park and left it for a day to get completely dissolved. It was actually an Eco-friendly idol and that water would be taken by the society members and used for watering plants in their respective homes. WOW! That came as a surprise.

Though it was not a very big thing, as many out there today are practising religious rituals by paying due respect to mother nature but experiencing it for the first time at my own place gave me immense satisfaction. Amidst all those idiots who, in the name of faith and God, were busy in blocking roads causing huge traffic snarls, murdering the Yamuna, getting drunk and high on roads, doing irritating dance moves and playing uncomfortably loud music to the displeasure of the commuters and passer-bys, causing ruckus and displaying Hooliganism, this certainly came as something very pleasant and soothed my anger and agony to some extent.

So I just felt that when we have the right to criticize the misdeeds then why not praise these good ones? Don’t they deserve to be shared?
